Seismometer

A sensor that detects ground motion caused by seismic waves and converts it into an electrical signal. It is the primary component of a seismograph, designed to measure displacement, velocity, or acceleration. Geophones are common seismometers used in land seismic surveys, while hydrophones are used in marine environments.
