Cable

A long, insulated conductor or bundle of conductors used in seismic acquisition to transmit electrical signals from geophones or hydrophones to the recording instrument. In marine seismic, streamer cables containing hydrophones are towed behind a vessel. Land cables connect geophones to the recording truck, often spanning several kilometers.
