Streamer

A long, buoyant cable towed behind a seismic vessel, containing an array of hydrophones for recording reflected seismic waves in marine surveys. These cables can extend for several kilometers and are designed to maintain a specific depth and separation. Modern streamers often incorporate steering devices to control their position and reduce feathering effects.
