Single-azimuth towed-streamer acquisition

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003423

A common method of marine seismic data acquisition where a seismic vessel tows one or more seismic sources and multiple streamers containing hydrophones in a straight line. The streamers are typically parallel to the vessel's path, resulting in seismic traces primarily recording reflections from a single azimuth. This configuration is widely used for regional surveys and 3D seismic data collection.
