Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002579
Ocean-bottom cable, a type of marine seismic acquisition system where receivers are deployed on the seafloor rather than towed in streamers. OBC systems are particularly useful in congested areas, shallow water, or around production platforms where towed streamers are impractical. They can also record multicomponent data, providing both P-wave and S-wave information.
