Narrow-azimuth seismic data
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002502
Seismic data acquired with a limited range of source-to-receiver azimuths, resulting in a restricted illumination of the subsurface. This acquisition geometry is characteristic of conventional towed-streamer marine surveys where the vessel tows both sources and receivers in a straight line. The limited azimuthal coverage can make imaging complex geological structures or characterizing azimuthal anisotropy in the reservoir difficult.
