Azimuthal resolution
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000235
The ability of a logging tool to distinguish between features or properties that vary around the circumference of the borehole. High azimuthal resolution allows for detailed imaging of the borehole wall and the identification of directional features like fractures, breakouts, or bedding planes. It is a key characteristic of imaging tools such as resistivity imagers and azimuthal density tools.
