Directional permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001106
The property of a porous medium where permeability varies with the direction of fluid flow, meaning the ease with which fluid flows is not uniform in all directions. This anisotropy is often caused by geological features such as bedding planes, fractures, or aligned grains. It significantly impacts fluid movement and sweep efficiency in reservoirs.
