Porous medium

A material containing interconnected pores or voids through which fluids can flow, such as reservoir rock formations like sandstone or limestone. The pore spaces allow for the storage and movement of oil, gas, and water within the subsurface. Key properties include porosity, which is the fraction of void space, and permeability, which measures the ease of fluid flow.
