Describing a rock or sediment that has interconnected pores, allowing fluids like oil, gas, or water to flow through it. Permeability is a measure of the ease of fluid flow through a porous medium and depends on the size, shape, and connectivity of the pore spaces. It is quantified in units of darcys or millidarcys, with conventional reservoir rocks having values from a few millidarcys to several darcys.
