Isotropic permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002057
A condition where the permeability of a porous medium is the same in all directions from a given point. A rock with isotropic permeability allows fluids to move with equal ease vertically, horizontally, or at any other angle. This property is contrasted with anisotropic permeability, where the value is directionally dependent, such as having a higher horizontal permeability (kh) than vertical permeability (kv).
