Isotropic

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002055

Describing a material or medium whose physical properties are the same in all directions. In geology, an isotropic rock would transmit seismic waves at the same velocity regardless of the direction of propagation. Many sedimentary rocks are anisotropic due to layering and preferred mineral orientation.
