Permeable
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008669
Describing a material or membrane that allows the passage of substances through its structure. This property depends on the size and chemical nature of the pores within the material, as well as the characteristics of the penetrating substance. Permeability is often quantified by a coefficient that relates flux to a driving force, such as a concentration gradient.
