Permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002750
A measure of the ability of a porous rock to allow fluids to flow through it, quantifying the interconnectedness of pore spaces. It is a key property for reservoir rocks, as it dictates how easily oil, gas, or water can move within the formation and be produced from a well. Permeability is commonly measured in darcies or millidarcies, with reservoir rocks ranging from a few millidarcies to several darcies.
