Specific permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003531
A measure of the ability of a porous medium to transmit a single fluid when that fluid completely fills the pore space. It is an intrinsic property of the rock, independent of the fluid's properties, and reflects the size and interconnectedness of the pore throats. Specific permeability is typically measured in darcies (D) or millidarcies (mD) and is a key parameter in reservoir engineering calculations.
