Effective permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001251
The ability of a rock to transmit a particular fluid when other immiscible fluids are also present in the pore space. This value is always less than the absolute permeability because the presence of other fluids reduces the available flow paths. It is measured in darcies or millidarcies.
