Pore throat
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002866
The narrowest constriction within the pore network of a rock that connects larger pore bodies. These constrictions control the flow of fluids through the porous medium, influencing permeability and capillary pressure. The size and distribution of pore throats are determined by rock texture, grain size, and cementation.
