Capillary pressure curve
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000535
A plot showing the relationship between capillary pressure and wetting phase saturation in a rock sample, illustrating the forces required to displace one fluid with another in porous media. It characterizes the pore throat size distribution and the fluid distribution within a reservoir rock. This curve is derived from laboratory measurements on core samples, such as mercury injection or porous plate experiments.
