Oil-wet

Describing a rock surface or pore throat that preferentially attracts and is coated by oil rather than water. In an oil-wet reservoir, oil adheres to the grain surfaces, while water occupies the central pore spaces. This condition affects fluid flow and the efficiency of oil recovery.
