Directional drilling

The practice of intentionally deviating a wellbore from a vertical path to reach a subsurface target that is not directly beneath the drilling rig. This technique allows access to multiple reservoirs from a single surface location, bypasses geological hazards, or extends the reach of a well. It involves the use of steerable bottom-hole assemblies and real-time survey data.
