Azimuthal

Describing a measurement or property that varies with direction around the circumference of the wellbore. Azimuthal measurements provide information about the heterogeneity of the formation, such as bedding planes, fractures, and stress orientations. This directional data is obtained by using logging tools with sensors that are oriented around the tool's axis.
