Abstraction
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000012
The practice of hiding complex implementation details while exposing only the necessary features of a system or component. It allows developers to interact with an object at a high level without needing to understand its internal workings. For example, a software library's Application Programming Interface (API) provides an abstraction over its underlying code, specifying the calls that can be made without revealing how they are executed.
