Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000120
A short-range wireless technology standard for creating personal area networks (PANs) between fixed and mobile devices. It operates in the ISM band from 2.400 to 2.485 GHz, using frequency-hopping spread spectrum to transmit data. Different classes of Bluetooth devices determine their effective range, with Class 1 devices having a maximum range of approximately 100 meters, while Class 2 devices are limited to about 10 meters.
