Complex Instruction Set Computer, an instruction set architecture where single instructions can execute multiple low-level operations, such as a load from memory, an arithmetic operation, and a store to memory. This design aims to complete tasks in fewer lines of assembly code. Intel x86 processors are a prominent example of CISC architecture.
