A controlled environment with a low level of pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapors. These rooms are designed to minimize contamination in sensitive manufacturing processes, particularly in the production of semiconductors, hard drives, and other electronic components. Air cleanliness is classified by the number of particles per cubic meter at a specified particle size, with ISO 14644-1 being a common standard.
