A time-based job scheduler in Unix-like computer operating systems. It allows users to schedule commands or scripts to run automatically at specified intervals or times. Tasks are defined in a crontab file, which specifies the command and the schedule using a five-field format for minute, hour, day of month, month, and day of week.
