Passive-matrix

A display technology where individual pixels are addressed by row and column lines, with each pixel retaining its state until the next refresh cycle. This method uses a grid of conductors to control the liquid crystal cells. Passive-matrix displays generally have slower response times and lower contrast compared to active-matrix displays.
