Primary memory

The main memory of a computer system that the central processing unit (CPU) can directly access. It holds data and instructions that are currently being used by the CPU, allowing for fast retrieval and processing. Random Access Memory (RAM) is the most common type of primary memory, characterized by its volatile nature, meaning data is lost when power is removed.
