Memory

A component of a computer system that stores data and instructions for immediate access by the central processing unit (CPU). It can be volatile, like RAM, losing its contents when power is removed, or non-volatile, like ROM, retaining data permanently. Memory capacity is measured in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes.
