Storage capacity

The total amount of data that a storage device or medium can hold. It is measured in units of bytes, such as kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), and terabytes (TB). The advertised capacity of a drive is calculated using powers of 1000, whereas operating systems report capacity using powers of 1024, resulting in a lower displayed number.
