Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001001

A value that represents a quantity along a continuous line, encompassing all rational and irrational numbers. These numbers can be positive, negative, or zero, and include those with an infinite number of decimal places. In computing, real numbers are approximated using floating-point data types, such as single-precision (32-bit) or double-precision (64-bit) formats, which have finite precision and range.
