Screen burn
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001068
A permanent discoloration or ghosting on a display screen, caused by prolonged display of a static image. This phenomenon is more prevalent in older CRT and plasma displays, where phosphors or pixels degrade unevenly. While less common in modern LCDs, OLED screens can still experience a similar effect known as 'burn-in' due to differential aging of organic light-emitting diodes.
