Cathode Ray Tube, a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns that emit electron beams, which are then deflected and accelerated towards a phosphorescent screen to create images. This technology was widely used in televisions and computer monitors before the advent of flat-panel displays. CRT monitors are known for their deep blacks and fast response times.
