UDP
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001270
A core communications protocol of the Internet Protocol suite used for establishing low-latency and loss-tolerating connections between applications. The User Datagram Protocol (UDP) works similarly to the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) but without the error-checking and data-recovery features, making it faster but less reliable. Because it does not sequence datagrams, there is no guarantee of ordered delivery, and packets may be lost without notification.
