Virtual reality
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001320
A computer-generated simulation of an environment that users interact with in a seemingly physical way. Users experience the simulation through specialized hardware, such as headsets with stereoscopic displays and motion-tracking sensors, which immerse them in the digital world. Unlike augmented reality, which superimposes digital elements onto the real world, virtual reality replaces the user's real-world environment entirely.
