  "definition": "1. Finely divided particles of soil or rock. Often carried in cloudy suspension in water and eventually deposited as sediment.\n\n2. Soil particles between 0.05 and 0.002 mm in diameter.\n\n3. Sedimentary materials composed of fine or intermediate-sized mineral particles.\n\n4. Loose particles of rock or mineral (sediment) that range in size from 0.002 - 0.0625 millimeters in diameter. Silt is finer than sand, but coarser than clay.\n\n5. A fine-grained sediment having a particle size intermediate between that of fine sand and clay.\n\n6.
