1. Ground water seeping out of the earth where the water table intersects the ground surface.
2. A water body formed when the side of a hill, a valley bottom or other excavation intersects a flowing body of groundwater at or below the local water table, below which the subsurface material is saturated with water.

4. Site at which ground water flows through a natural opening in the ground onto the land surface or into a body of surface water.
