Aged R-value

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000121

The thermal resistance value of an insulation material after it has been exposed to environmental conditions over time, accounting for any degradation in performance. This value is particularly relevant for insulations that rely on trapped gases, such as foam boards, where gas can escape. The aged R-value provides a more realistic measure of long-term insulating capability than the initial R-value.
