Alligator

A type of shear used in metalworking for cutting bars, rods, and other metal stock. It features a hinged jaw that resembles an alligator's mouth, with one stationary blade and one moving blade. Alligator shears are rated by their cutting capacity, such as the maximum diameter of round bar they can sever.
