Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000184

A display technology that uses organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) arranged in a matrix, where each pixel is individually controlled by a thin-film transistor (TFT) array. This active matrix control allows for faster refresh rates, higher contrast ratios, and deeper blacks compared to passive matrix OLEDs. AMOLED displays are commonly found in smartphones and high-end televisions.
