A vacuum-operated fuel feed system found in early automobiles, designed to draw gasoline from a main tank to a smaller auxiliary tank positioned above the carburetor. This system eliminated the need for a fuel pump or gravity feed from a high-mounted main tank. It operates by using engine manifold vacuum to create suction, pulling fuel into the vacuum tank.
