Baseboard

A decorative molding installed along the bottom of an interior wall, where it meets the floor. It serves to cover the joint between the wall and flooring materials, protecting the wall from impacts and concealing imperfections. Baseboards are available in numerous profiles and heights, typically ranging from 3 to 8 inches tall.
