Beater

A machine part or machine that beats, mixes or agitates material with rotating blades or paddles, such as the beater bars of a mixer. In papermaking the beater, or Hollander beater, is the machine in which a roll circulating pulp against a bedplate cuts and brushes fibers into stock for paper. Beaters also appear in food processing machines and paint mixers.
