Machine

An apparatus using electrical, mechanical, or chemical energy to perform work, consisting of a power source and a system of interconnected parts that transmit forces and motion. In electrical engineering, this includes motors, generators, and transformers which convert energy from one form to another. Electrical machines are rated by their power output in watts or horsepower, along with their specified voltage and current requirements.
