Lorentz force
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003432
The force exerted by a magnetic field on a moving electric charge or on a current-carrying conductor. This fundamental principle explains the operation of electric motors, generators, and many other electromagnetic devices. The force is perpendicular to both the velocity of the charge and the magnetic field direction.
