Blown diffuser
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000638
A design concept in automotive aerodynamics, particularly in racing, where exhaust gases are directed into the diffuser section of a vehicle. This increases the velocity of airflow under the car, creating a low-pressure area that generates additional downforce. The technique was notably used in Formula 1 before regulatory changes restricted its application.
