Air-blown asphalt

Asphalt that has been oxidized by blowing air through it while hot, which raises its softening point, hardens it and makes it less sensitive to temperature changes. It is used mainly in roofing, including shingle coatings and built-up roofing, and in pipe coatings and waterproofing compounds.
