Chemical rocket
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001088
A type of rocket engine that generates thrust by the expulsion of hot gases produced from the combustion of chemical propellants. These propellants, typically liquid or solid, undergo an exothermic reaction within a combustion chamber. The exhaust gases are then directed through a nozzle to create thrust, as seen in the Space Shuttle's main engines.
