Nuclear rocket

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003948

A theoretical or experimental propulsion system for spacecraft that uses energy from nuclear reactions to heat a propellant, which is then expelled to generate thrust. Unlike chemical rockets, the nuclear reaction provides the energy, allowing for higher exhaust velocities and greater efficiency. This technology has been explored for deep-space missions due to its potential for faster transit times.
