Bottom heat

The application of warmth to the base of a seed tray or pot to encourage germination and root development in seedlings and cuttings. This is achieved using electric heating mats, cables, or hot water pipes placed underneath the growing medium. Maintaining a consistent soil temperature, typically between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, accelerates the rooting process for many plant species.
